Performances

Won Tan Nara Drum & Dance Ensemble is a vibrant group of dancers and percussionists under the artistic direction of Alseny Yansane who shares the compelling and beautiful cultural arts of his homeland Guinea, West Africa. Other performers are students dedicated to expanding their understanding of and connection to the West African performance tradition and have studied this art form extensively, attending workshops and conferences across the United States and traveling to the Motherland to complete intensive training workshops.

Whether it’s the festive dance pieces or high energy percussion numbers, audiences of all ages and backgrounds will find themselves clapping their hands and jumping out of their seats due to the power of this evocative and inspiring art form. Throughout the show audience members are invited to join in the fun with a facilitated audience participation segment which helps folks to sing and dance Guinea style.

Full company performance prices vary depending on the location and scope of the event. Additionally, Alseny Yansane is available for individual contracts as a principle dancer and percussionist.
