Holidays in Guinea are very festive and fun and we plan to celebrate all of the December holidays that we enjoy in the United States, Guinea style! You won’t miss anything, but all of the hustle and bustle because we will be on a gorgeous tropical island for Christmas and in a bumpin’ night club on New Year’s Eve enjoying good food and drink, music and dance, snazzy clothes and joyful hearts!

“This trip to Guinea really showed me what community is. Every time I needed a little help there was always someone there to take care of me as if I were family. I love that about Guinea. I really love having so many options for activities like the Doundounbas, wedding ceremonies, and the fair. The trips to the Island of Rhoume and to the village of Kambalia were what made the trip fantastic. We were able to see what Guinea was really like, not just city life.” Tanara G, Eugene, OR 2008/2009

Extra Curricular Activities like visiting ballet rehearsals, going to the market, getting your hair braided, watching soccer matches, having hand-made clothing tailored, attending ceremonies and folkloric events, going out to night clubs, going down town for ice-cream and visiting praise singers will be organized through sign-up sheets so that travelers can fit everything into their busy schedule. Remember, because extra cirricular activities involve personal choices so the cost of these activities is not included in the price of the trip.

“Guinea is a place where the roots of traditional west African dance/music coexisting with the everyday innovation to this art form. Get ready to sweat hard while staying appreciative the opportunity you have to take you passion for this art form to new heights!” Emma G, Buffalo, NY 2005
